Self Portrait
Final Drawing
Questions:
1. In the process of creating my art piece I went through stages of drawing the different features. As you may be able to see I redrew some of the features because I did not like the proportions of the original drawing. Once I was happy with the proportions I moved on to shading in sections giving value to the piece. Once I was done shading I spent time creating the muscle and bone on the 'stripped' side of the face.
2. I represented myself as a half torn face because I felt that it represented my internal anger that tears me apart on the inside but never gets shown on the outside.
3. I think I achieved almost full range on my portrait although I could've shaded more in the Jaw and cheeks. I found difficult achieving a deeper range of value the darker my pencil got.
4. I think my craftsmanship is good, I spent a lot of time on the nose, eyes, and mouth. I do believe I could have had a more steady hand while drawing the eyes to create a more realistic look.
5. I do not think I captured my look very well, I think the issue is the proportions of my eyes are not right and the nose is a little too large.
6. I was able to place my facial features in a good spot by putting lines and shapes across the face of my portrait to ensure that each feature was placed properly.
7. It was important to learn how to draw all of the facial features differently because it allows for people to focus on how to draw that feature in a greater detail and understanding than trying to draw it all in one go.
8. I think learning how to draw the nose was the most beneficial because it is a facial feature with very few visible lines most of the nose is just shading and value.
9. I do not think I had any obstacles the lessons were able to teach how to draw the face and how to proportionate I would say I could improve my portraits if I just spent time practicing.

Self Evaluation:
1. Describe how you created an interesting point of view? Was it successful? Why or why not?
I created an interesting point of view by taking the photo close to the ground. I believe that the angle was successful because the image looks poportatiate and balanced.
2. Why is it important to understand perspective and how to draw it?
It is important to understand perspective because it allows an artist to draw objects/structures in a piece successfully.
3. How were the pencil and perspective exercises important in the success of your piece?
The pencil and perspective exercises are important to my success because it allowed me to practice and perfect my method of creating perspective.
4. Describe the craftsmanship of your piece. What techniques were used? (How well the project is technically crafted).
The craftsmanship of my piece is good because I spent a long time using the techniques of shading/coloring I learned to create a consistent looking artwork.
5. Were you able to achieve depth by showing a foreground, middleground and background? Explain.
I was able to achieve depth by showing a foreground, middleground, and background by using object clarity/sharpness to create a sense of depth in the piece.
6. Explain your experience with using perspective and the project in general. What were the obstacles and advantages?
My experience using perspective in the project was interesting I think I prefer graphite because it seems easier to control to be the color does however add a level of realism hard to achieve with graphite.
7. Looking back on the progression of this project, what skills, techniques or other information would you like to have been taught? Do you feel you were prepared for this project?
The skills, techniques, and other information I would have liked to learn was how to create more realistic textures like wood or leaves.

Forced Prospective
1 point perspective
the one point perspective video showed how to create rooms from the inside of a building and create backdrops for outside landscapes.
2 point perspective
For two point perspective the video instructed to draw a two point city scape that has trees and water canals. These videos also showed how to implement organic shapes into a perspective piece.
3 point perspective
For three point perspective the videos showed how to draw cityscapes in perspective. These videos also showed how to create detail in a city or buildings. I drew a singular building and a small city scape.
Still Life Drawing
What challenges did you encounter during this project and how did you overcome them?
What have you learned drawing a still life?
1. The craftsmanship of my drawing is clear sharp edges with light shading.
2. I think my values are semi realistic and could use more depth. My shadows could be more defined to help with depth. There is a light source that comes from the top left of the piece.
3. The compositional sketches let me be creative about how I wanted to approach the piece of art.
4. My drawing is successful because I did well in the detail of the image.
5. The proportions, structure and perspective in the piece seem well done to me except for the model car.
6. The placement of the objects seem well done and create an upwards movement of the eye from left to right.
7. The center of interest is detailed and well drawn this creates a good center to the piece.
8. I feel that I could manage my time a little better, however I always seem to work the best when art is something I want to work on.
9. While I was creating the piece I felt that I struggled to shade properly and that took the most time.
10. I have learned that drawing the shapes is less important than the shading because the shading creates more realism.

Photography Project
This art piece is a group of photos that is supposed to tell a story, in this particular case it is telling a story about the beginning of the school year. My set of photos contains many different shapes these shapes help guide the eye across all 3 objects in each photo. The photos also include balance because they share a common background and quantity of objects.
The reason why I chose these items for my photos is because they follow a pattern. The pattern is having the same background and 3 objects in each photo. The idea is that even though I picked different items in each photo they are still similar, this similarity is supposed to feel boring and repetitive just like these first few weeks of school and the entire pandemic. I would have like to taken a picture of a wall and a spinning ceiling fan, but that would not have gone over well.
